The Journey
Frank grew up as the sixth of seven children in a family that instilled resilience, discipline, and an unwavering work ethic. Those early lessons became the foundation of a career defined by clarity, structure, and performance.
He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Purdue University, graduating with distinction while gaining hands‑on experience across multiple engineering disciplines through a cooperative education program.
Frank began his career at Exxon, where he taught internationally, consulted across the downstream sector, published in Hydrocarbon Processing, and presented at a major ASME convention by age twenty‑six. His work quickly gained recognition for its rigor, clarity, and practical impact.
A chance encounter led him to Amoco (later bp), where he contributed to major offshore and onshore developments across more than a dozen countries. There, Frank became focused on a simple but transformative question:
Why do organizations accept the belief that cost, schedule, and quality cannot all be excellent at the same time?
This question drove him to overhaul engineering standards, create Execution Plus, lead a worldwide benchmarking initiative, and direct improvement teams that transformed culture, boosted productivity, and established Best‑In‑Class performance across the organization.
His efforts converged into Ideas to Reality, an integrated framework he presented at the 2nd International Conference on the Dynamics of Strategy. The framework demonstrates how Strategy, Commercial, and Projects can operate as a unified, high‑performance engine.
Moreover, the lessons and systems developed throughout his career ultimately led to Achieving Organizational Excellence Is Easy, a practical methodology that enables organizations of any size to improve, manage, and measure performance with engineered discipline and repeatable clarity.
Frank formed CSQ3 Corporation in 1999 and continues to help organizations achieve excellence with clarity, confidence, and simplicity.
